Many people will recommend keeping the food area separate, however, we have discovered that our local Hedgehogs are quiet happy to have an en-suite watering area attached to their residence - with a separate roof area, "house keeping" does not risk disturbing them when they are asleep during the day to clean and replenish their supplies! You can of course, simple omit the water area from the building plans. Enjoy!
