PLEASE Help, if you can.

Dear Friends
Hedgehogs are becoming just one of the hidden victims of our” building a better future”.
Now on our “Red List” the British hedgehog is now officially classified as vulnerable to extinction .
You will not hear much about these poor mammals who have been decimated over the last two decades due to us. The same as you will not hear on the television the tragic or happy stories that so many rescues have to tell.
It’s so distressing to hear how much poor Casper had to endure, but I hope you will understand why I am sharing his story. You see, there’s a simple way you can help us, to help them – but we need you to act quickly.
Please will you give just £20 today? Your gift will help us rescue and treat more hedgehogs. We desperately need our own purpose built hogspital and what you give will help us to help them.
Your kindness could help save a hedgehog like Casper. When he was found he’d been rescued from a drain. Cold and wet from the bad weather, no one heard his small cries for help as the wind howled around him. Scratch marks on the edge showed his frantic attempts for escape.
Casper was the not even the weight of a healthy hoglet, so dehydrated and malnourished it was hard to look at his poor bony long shaped body. No roundness appeared, just a hollow hog, struggling to stand, his beautiful eyes barely seen as they’d sunken due to lack of water. His poor body covered in fly strike and young maggots.
Heartbreakingly, some his little spines had been charred black – one can only guess he’d been under a lit bonfire before his mad dash for freedom had resulted in falling into the pit of a drain. Still he let us poke and prod him – not really caring if he lived or died.
Without help and support we could not afford the vets bills or food needed to bring this hedgehog back into good condition. You can help by giving the hedgehogs a gift today.
As we continue to build, taking their habitats away, and as we continue to drive too fast – is it a wonder that rescues like this are needed? When we began we expected to see no more than say 10 or 20 hogs a year – last year we have had over 200 hedgehogs through our doors, needing help and emergency medical care.
Sadly, with the cost of living rising it is harder to get the support these hedgehogs need. Right now, our carers are doing all they can to help rescue the hedgehogs, but the generosity of kind-hearted people like you has never been more crucial. Because the price of everything, from the cost of fuel, that helps us attend a rescue to the energy that heats our incubators and the food the hedgehogs need – has continued to soar. Whilst we paid and built our first hogspital we have quickly outgrown it and need more room. It is impossible to save with so many high costs.
I hope you can understand why we are turning to you for help at this difficult time.
Whatever you can give will make a difference. So, please, join in to help our Rescue.
Your contribution could make the difference between life and death for a hedgehog like Casper. I’m delighted to tell you today, that he’s barely recognisable. You can rest assured we will use your money wisely. We do not pay staff or waste huge amounts of money on advertising, and flash cars. We have no head office to pay for – it’s just us. We have been rescuing, and rehabilitating hedgehogs for four years and we do not close. Our phone is open 24 hours a day, and we will call you back, should we miss your call.
Caspers story had a happy ending. Today his weight has risen by 500%, his eyes are bright and he is alert and looking forward to finding some female company in the spring. He got the care and medical attention he needed thanks to compassionate people like you, and right now he's back in the wild living his best life.
By giving £20 you could help save a hedgehog’s life this year and enable us to dig the foundations for a future hogspital so that can care for more of these wonderful creatures. Honestly, we don’t think you’ll find a more worthwhile present to give.
Thank you for being there for the hedgehogs.
